I’m a real person, you’re a real person. We’re both on the internet. Let’s be internet friends!
I’m all about connection. If we were in line together at the grocery store, post office, or some other semi-awkward situation I would most definitely be the first to make eye contact and start the conversation. Let’s pretend we already know each other ( or at least want to) and go from there. This website is a place to share my thoughts, poems, art, and experiences. I’d love to hear about yours too.
Here are a few more compelling reasons why you might want to get in touch with me.
Reason 1- I’m nice and it will be fun!
Coworkers, friends and even near strangers have told me that I’m the “nicest” person they know. While my close friends and family know the truth–that it’s impossible for even a nice person to be 100% nice all the time–I am pretty freaking nice most of the time. Not fake nice either, I genuinely care about people. This includes you. Our online friendship can skip all the awkward parts and go straight to being cool. I’m excited to learn more about who you are and why you’re here.
Reason 2 – You like my art and poetry
I love reading my poems aloud. When I do, people usually tell me that there’s something they can relate to. If you’ve read something you like, please let me know. It makes me feel good. Plus, I’m interested to know where you’re coming from in your life and why you enjoyed what you read, heard or saw. Thanks already for your positive feedback and encouragement!
Reason 3 – I can get to know you better
I’m interested in your perspective and the experiences that add up to you. We are likely different in many ways but we also have similarities. I really enjoy discovering what those common interests, experiences, beliefs and threads of life actually are. When it comes down to it, if we’ve found each other at this exact time in our lives, there’s a reason for it.
This quote from Wayne Dyer explains “Every single person who’s drifted in and out of your life is a part of your divinely chosen experience.” I gave my Mom this calendar as a gift for the New Year and she saved this page when it came up and gave it back to me. It’s special because my Mom gave it to me. Plus, it’s written on a calendar so it must be true.
Reason 4 – You have questions & You want to share
Maybe you’re new to writing? Maybe you’d like to know more about my life? Maybe you’d like to share some things about your life? Whatever it is, I’d love to hear it, read it, see it. You get the idea.
Reason 5 – We can be creative together
This website is a fun and meaningful place for creative people to connect, share and get inspired. I’d love to see what projects you’re working on and what inspires you. Even if you don’t think you have a “good” project, you do. And I’m excited to see it. Painting your bathroom a different color can be a creative project. Working with wood or steel. Or- writing a book, cutting and pasting a collage, digital art, sketching, drawing, painting, photography, sewing, cooking, singing, strumming the Ukulele…there’s so many fun, artistic, and interesting ways to be creative in life.
I used to believe that creativity was scarce and I had to wait for late-night inspiration to strike. While I still have good ideas that just won’t let me sleep until I write them down until 3 a.m., I also know that true inspiration is everywhere and can happen anytime.
For me, it’s things in daily life like nature, the sky, trees, light, and water that really make me feel refreshed and excited. I also enjoy a good festival, music and food, hence the living in Austin, Texas.
